Railsea

Excellent fantasy from China Mieville, completely unique. It's sort of a re-telling of Moby Dick, but has elements from other epics wound in. The tone and the story itself reminded me a lot of Neil Gaiman books like The Graveyard Book and The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but it is a little more complex and less YA than either of those. Still, it is a fairly quick read, moving along at an easy pace without many slow parts. Highly recommended!
