This was good, Flynn has a writing style that I think will always work for me (and most other thriller readers.) However, think "The Grownup" didn't have enough of a purpose as a story to get me invested enough to care for the twists at the end. I've seen comments complaining about the twists themselves, which for the most part I don't understand. The double twist shows our main characters' true colors, the ending wasn't ambiguous to me, it was the main character understanding that the decision the reader is initially intended to think is the wrong one is in fact what the narrator chooses. That's a cool ending in my eyes.
The other thing I saw that other reviews noted was that publishing a novella under 100 pages as a hardcover is a money grab from the author, which it very much could be. However, I listened to Libby's audiobook version instead and therefore don't have a personal problem with this.
